Health Guarantee & Adoption Terms
At Escondido Acres, we take pride in being trusted mini golden retriever breeders, dedicated to raising healthy, well-socialized comfort retriever puppies. We understand that adopting a new puppy is a big commitment, which is why we offer a comprehensive health guarantee to give you peace of mind. Whether you’re bringing home a petite comfort retriever or a teacup golden retriever, we stand behind the health, quality, and well-being of every puppy we place in loving homes.
🐾 Pet Health Guarantee
At Escondido Acres, we stand behind the health and well-being of our comfort retriever puppies. Every puppy purchased with limited AKC registration, CPR registration, or no registration comes with a 5-year health guarantee covering severe genetic conditions that would impact their quality of life.
This includes:
✔ Heart Defects
✔ Complete Blindness
✔ Inability to Walk (due to hip dysplasia or patella luxation)
✔ Life-Threatening Cancer
If a licensed veterinarian and a specialist confirm in writing that a comfort mini golden retriever suffers from one of these conditions, a replacement puppy will be provided.
- A minimum of two separate evaluations from licensed veterinarians must be submitted.
- In the unfortunate case of death, an autopsy is required to claim a replacement.
- Financial compensation is never offered if the puppy is kept.
🚫 Conditions NOT Covered
While we ensure the genetic health of our petite comfort retrievers, the following are NOT covered under our health guarantee:
✖ Allergies of any kind
✖ Infectious Diseases, including kennel cough
✖ Cherry Eye or Third Eyelids
✖ Pinched Nostrils (Stenotic Nares)
✖ Freak Accidents or Suspected Mistreatment
✖ Hernias of Any Kind
✖ Parasites, Giardia, or Coccidia
✖ Mange Mites (Preventable with Revolution & ProMeris)
✖ Mild Thyroid Conditions or Mild Heart Murmurs
✖ Heat Exhaustion
Our mini golden retriever breeders prioritize responsible breeding, but some minor health issues are beyond our control.

We are committed to ensuring you have a healthy puppy and offer one replacement puppy per owner.
🐕 Breeding Stock Guarantee
For dogs purchased as breeding stock, we offer a 2-year health guarantee against:
✔ Hip Dysplasia (caused by genetics, not injury)
✔ Patella Luxation (Grade 3 or higher)
✔ Heart Murmurs & Thyroid Conditions
What Is NOT Guaranteed?
✖ Size, Weight, or Color of the puppy
✖ Bite or Show Ring Placement
✖ Reproductive Capabilities as an adult
Dogs sold with full registration have no known defects at the time of sale, but future development cannot be guaranteed. If a dog is bred before 12 months of age, the health guarantee is void.
💰 Financial Policies & Refunds
📌 No monetary refunds will be given – All medical expenses and treatments are the buyer’s responsibility.
📌 If a replacement puppy is not available within one year, a financial refund will be issued.
📌 If Escondido Acres believes a replacement will not satisfy the buyer, a refund may be offered at our discretion.
📌 The total liability will never exceed the original comfort retriever price paid for the puppy.
The buyer is responsible for all transportation costs related to receiving the replacement puppy.
⚠ Transfer of Ownership Policy
This health guarantee is only valid for the original buyer. If the puppy is rehomed, sold, or transferred, the guarantee becomes null and void.
